Go R A Y S !!

Sunday was family fun day at the ballpark. We loaded the whole fam damily up, unfortunately RIGHT during Emery's usual nap, and headed to St. Pete to see the Rays take on the Rangers. It was a 1:30pm game and my goal was to have Emery asleep in the car, the entire way there. No such luck. Oh well. Ian rode in Mamaw & Papaw's car and was so excited. With his new Rays shirt on - he was ready to go! We had great seats in the outfield, music was loud, temperature was perfect...he was loving every minute of it. We all ate hot dogs and cracker jacks and really enjoyed ourselves. Emery was great, however, around the 5th inning - she was wanting to sit on the floor and get down and move all over the place. She would not fall asleep in my arms, as she has never slept anywhere other than her cozy, cozy bed or car seat. Ian stayed with Mamaw & Papaw while we took the little one home. Ian and Papaw journeyed to the touch tank to see the stingrays, which Ian asked about every hour on the hour, 24 hours before we even left for the game! Upon leaving, they invested in more Rays gear...a bat, a ball (and a hat to come the next day, from Marshalls for 1/2 the price). He slept with the bat and the ball for the ride home and has not put them down since Sunday. He didn't even want me to take off his shirt, but allowed me to wash it for his first day of school. He, of course, had to wear it for his new teachers. I wish everyone could see this kid hit a baseball...I guess I need to video it. He is incredible! What a fun day for him and you can now guess what he wants to be for Halloween....that's right....a Tampa Bay Rays baseball player. Our costume is almost complete!

Walking to our seats, Ian was so very excited
